Something wonderful for the weekend (27/28 November)

With the countdown to Christmas quickly approaching here is a guide to some of the merry magic happening this weekend:

Winter Festival at the Tate

Be amongst the first to see the new winter collection on display at Tate St Ives.

From computer-simulated flocks of birds projected onto the ceiling in the artist Sammy Lee’s Aviary commission, to the Kemeneth project produced by artist Adam James, in collaboration with the St Ives community, which explores the different paths we have taken in the past two years, this inspiring collection makes a great place to visit this weekend.

With tickets at only £1 for adults and childrens’ admission free, the Winter Festival is a must-see!

Christmas Paper Printing at The Box

Take a trip to The Box Plymouth this weekend for Christmas crafting festivities.

Join in with the workshops that run from 10, 12:30 and 2:30 on Saturday and Sunday to make some decorative Christmas paper to cherish and step into the festive season with style.

With different crafty sessions on weekends throughout advent, why not take the opportunity to make some Christmas keepsakes with your little one?

If you make it to the centre in time for breakfast you might even see Santa, who will be enjoying the cafe menu on weekends up until December 19.

Christmas in Truro:

After the lights switch on last week, the holiday season is well and truly on it’s way in Truro.

Visit this Saturday to be treated to a host of Christmas catering on Boscowan and main shopping streets, as this marks the first weekend where roads will be pedestrianised between 9-5pm on Saturdays in the run up to Christmas.

Lights will be on from 8am-10pm and 2pm-5pm and until 8pm on Wednesdays for late night shopping.

Why not go and embrace the Christmas spirit, this weekend? With an illuminated Reindeer Trail in shop windows, there’s something for all the family in Truro this year.
